It's not how you start..

Hi Folks, hope 2011 is turning out ok for you all. Just a short post today to say that I've been enjoying playing my banjo (my case arrived for it this week - a lovely plush red inside); doing lots of running (20 miles so far this year - not bad being a little over a week in); have cycled to work twice (in the pitch black and torrential rain - again, not a bad effort, and 5 miles each way); and have finished two books already (admittedly I'd begun one in 2010).

In an effort to drink up our hot drinks cupboard, I'm currently drinking a cinnamon tea, which is quite nice. In other news I have finally ditched Internet Explorer (which was running ridiculously slowly and freezing every 5 minutes) in favour of Google Chrome, which is fast, shiny and stylish.

It's been milder weather this week, but pretty rainy (and those days I had to cycle to work). No snow so far this year..

So the books I finished were The Man on my Back, an autobiographical one by Eric Linklater (a present from my mother in law, and an interesting read - mine is the 1941 version too!), and The Winter Queen by Boris Akunin - a fast paced crime thriller set in the 1870s and translated from the original Russian. I'm glad it's only the first in a series because it was compulsive and had a horrific twist! I borrowed that from the Strickland book carousel - my sister-in-law lent it to my mum, who passed it to me.. probably on to my oldest brother next!

Eden's decided to start walking this week and is now happily pottering around by herself!
