Blood River

It's a stormy November here in the UK, although the temperature today is much milder than the freezing temperatures in the week. We've spent more time in Birmingham over these past few weeks - I did a charity 5 mile running race with some colleagues, and we also participated in a charity quiz run by my colleagues too, which was really good.

In my commutes on the bus since my last post I've finished CJ Sansom's Revelation, the fourth in his Shardlake series, and possibly the best so far. Unfortunately the fifth is only out in hardback.. tried to get it from the library but one had 27 reservations and another had 144!! In the meantime I've read a fascinating and tragic book about the Congo by Tim Butcher called Blood River. I do like "adventure" travel books that have a bit of history.

At the moment our house smells lovely - Kate's baking a "proper" Christmas Cake :) This year's gone so quickly.. Eden's nearly one!
